We have been very busy this week. Mark is persistently cranking out his thesis so it will be ready to submit by June 30th and ready to defend on July 13th. In the meantime, we have to be out of our current apartment by June 30th as well, so we're trying to pack things up, move them to storage, and decide what to keep and what to get rid of. It's starting to feel like we'll pull it off. I learned today that a 5 Hour Energy drink really will help make it possible to keep moving instead of feeling like I should nap when Camilla does (thus neutralizing the benefit of an hour and a half without her constantly under foot).
I worried that all of this packing would stress Camilla out. On the contrary, she has been thrilled to get to play with things she didn't know existed as we dig them out to box up. She loves playing in and on the boxes and pulling things out of them while we try to fill them up. She has no idea what's about to shake up her little world. A couple of days ago, Mark finally agreed to get rid of dozens of empty CD cases that we've been moving around the country since we got married. He boxed them up, and then we tackled a file full of old documents that we've also been moving around the country. We ended up with this pile to toss:
In the meantime, Camilla went to work on the box of CD cases:
Today I pulled out Camilla's old bathtub when I found a box it would fit into. She would not allow me to put it away. She wanted to kick back and relax in it, and she wanted to hang onto this empty box while she did so.
So even though we're stressed and tired and losing patience, Camilla keeps us smiling as much as possible. She even took a step all by herself today, but she didn't realize she had done it and probably still has a while longer before she can finally get around on her own two feet.
