We just can't seem to get enough vacationing this summer. With so much work for both of us to do, I'm not sure how we've managed to squeeze it all in. However, we certainly want to make the most of things while we're out here on the East Coast, so no complaints here. We do think we're done with travelling for the summer, except for maybe a camping trip or fishing trip sometime. Last week we got to go berry picking. I've been looking forward to this all summer! We picked sour cherries, raspberries, and blueberries. I think the fresh berries are my favorite thing about Ithaca in the summer.
Last weekend, my brother and his wife came out to New York again to see family. Jessica's family has a cabin on the Canadian side in the Thousand Islands. She and Jeff came out last year and we took them to Niagara Falls before they headed north. This year, we drove them up to the Thousand Islands and spent a couple of days with them at the cabin. Jessica's family was so nice and welcoming to let us stay at their place, and we had so much fun with them. We played games, went fishing, went to Ganonoque and had amazing ice cream, and went on a tour of the islands (Jessica's dad was our own personal tour guide). Mark even took me out on the row boat, which was a little scary at first but was a unique experience for me.

While we were on our tour, Jessica's dad took us down this channel.
On the left is the U.S. and on the right is Canada.

The Bookwalter cabin on Tar Island

Mark taught me how to cast, then made fun of me for how I did it.
I almost caught a fish. Then I would have had to touch it to
get it off the hook. It's probably better that I didn't get one.

Mark caught 3 fish one morning. A trip well-worth it. :)

fun! I'm sad you guys didn't take us! we're glad you're back to do some weeding!:)
Hey- that's beautiful! Sounds like my kind of trip.
As far as berry picking...it's all over the place in the summers in Michigan, but we haven't ever been there in the summer- argh! We are hoping to stay there next summer and take advantage of all the fresh delicious fruit- you'll have to enjoy it doubly for us!
If I was you and had friends with cabins in such beautiful places I would never leave!
Looks like you are having a great life out in New York!
