Houston Aquarium

It's still hot in Houston. Camilla still gets stir crazy if we try to stay indoors all day, so we are starting to look for alternative solutions to swimming in a kiddie pool surrounded by fire ants. Last week we took advantage of a 2 for 1 deal to the Houston Aquarium. It was PERFECT! We got to be indoors, there was no crowd because school just started, and Camilla got to walk and explore to her heart's content. Her attention span is pretty short, but she liked looking at all the fish and other sea creatures.

They also had some pretty cool white tigers. I'm not sure how they tie into the aquarium theme, but we enjoyed watching this beauty for a long time.

Just outside the Aquarium, they had some rides that were included with our entrance fee. Camilla got to take her first Ferris Wheel ride. (Which ended up making me pretty nervous because she got antsy and wanted to stand up near the end. Maybe we'll hold off on anything but carousels for awhile.) They also had a carousel, and even better yet--a splash pad. We didn't anticipate that, so we had no extra clothes for her, but gave in and let her soak herself anyways. She is really starting to love water. She even loves sitting in the bathroom sink and letting the water run over her hands. We're going to have to find some more ways to get her wet.
